Crew Commercial are proud sponsors of Braille House and their Celebration of Friendship Golf Day. Our financial assistance to Braille House, located in the Brisbane suburb of Annerley, will help them achieve a great deal in terms of accessibility and inclusion.
- Braille House has been providing braille, tactile and teaching resources to children and adults who are blind and have low vision for 125 years, an amazing achievement for a volunteer-based organisation.
- For every 100 books that a sighted child has access to, a blind child has access to just 5. It is a statistic Braille House is committed to changing, and will change thanks to community support.
- Braille is the key to literacy and provides blind and low vision people the support to live independently and attain their desired level of education.
- Braille House does not currently receive government funding. They rely on volunteers and donations.
- It is said of the famous Frenchman Louis Braille, who invented braille, that he opened the door of knowledge for those who cannot see.
